The usual applications downloaded by iPhone users, there are many who 'play back'.Among them were able to track a user's location without permission.
According to the results of research conducted Bitdefender, one of five applications on the iPhone are known to access the user's address book without being noticed. While 41% were able to track the location of users and many applications that access data without permission.
And by default, the application on the App Store just ask permission to access location services and not to access the 'address book' or other private functions. This is what is feared to make the misuse of the data.
Bitdefender who conducted a study of more than 65 thousand popular applications in the App Store found that only 57.5% of that encrypts data stored, while the rest did not.
With the remaining 41.4% means that the majority of iPhone owners have at least one application on the device that is able to know where they are.
The study also reveals many as 18.6% of the application can access the user's address book, including all contact details.
"It's worrying, encryption of data stored on the iOS app is fairly low and commonly mistaken for location tracking, but it is not.Without any notice of an application is given the freedom to access, difficult to control what information the user is found,"said Catalin Cosoi,Chief Researcher Security at BitDefender,as quoted from Cellular News,Thursday.
"We are concerned by the lack of view of the user's data encryption.Tracking the location quietly unjustified, including access to the address book," grumbled.
